Car peace of mind

A tradition that refuses to die, such is the practice of bobbin lace, which has been intertwined with the history of Santa Catarina Island for more than 270 years, when the first Azoreans arrived here. In the beginning, lacemaking was the profession of many women, contributing to the family's earnings and for generations, the technique was passed from mothers to daughters.

Nowadays, few children and young people are interested in local crafts, but so that the tradition is not lost and can continue to contribute as a source of income for families, at least two projects try to revitalize the practice of traditional crafts.
