Itaguaçu
According to one of the old legends of Florianópolis, the region's witches wanted to throw a beautiful party along the lines of high society. The place for the festive meeting would be Itaguaçu beach, in Florianópolis, the most beautiful setting on earth. Everyone was invited, the werewolves, the vampires and the headless mules. Indigenous myths also attended, among them were the curupiras, the caiporas, the boitatás, and many others. In an assembly, the witches decided not to invite the devil due to his immense stench of sulfur and antisocial attitudes, as he demands that all witches kiss his ass as a way of establishing his mockingly absolute power.
The orgy was unfolding, when the devil appeared by surprise, among lightning and thunder, angrily irritated by the witches' marginalizing attitude, punishing them, transforming them into large stones, which to this day float in the waters of the green and blue sea of Itaguaçu beach. , thus giving rise to the name of the place in the indigenous language: ITA = Stone GUAÇU = Big.
